Before you write

A few of the most common questions answered here may save you a round trip.

I'm not getting bill reminders or budget alerts

Open Settings → Notifications in the app and confirm Bill Reminders and Budget Alerts are both enabled. Then check at the system level: on iOS, open Settings → Notifications → Momo Finances Tracker; on Android, open Settings → Apps → Momo Finances Tracker → Notifications. Bill reminders fire at 7, 3, 1, and 0 days before the due date; budget alerts fire when a budget hits 80% and 100% of its limit (once per period).

CSV import isn't picking up my categories

Categories and accounts are matched by name, case-insensitively. If the name in your CSV doesn't exactly match an existing one in the app, the row will be skipped (with a count shown in the import preview). The simplest fix is to export a CSV from the app first to see the exact names, then align your import file to match. Currency mismatches between the file and your account currency are also surfaced in the preview.

How do I restore my Plus subscription on a new device?

Sign in with the same Apple ID (iOS) or Google account (Android) you used to purchase the subscription, install the app, and your entitlement will be verified automatically through the App Store or Google Play. If it doesn't appear right away, look for a Restore Purchases option in the app's subscription screen. Subscriptions don't transfer between platforms — an App Store subscription only restores on iOS, and a Google Play subscription only restores on Android.

I uninstalled the app and lost my data

All data is stored locally on your device, so uninstalling permanently deletes it. To prevent data loss in the future, periodically export a CSV from Settings → Export & Import. You can re-import that file at any time on the same or a new device.

Investment transactions aren't behaving as I expect

An investment transaction is a dual-account move: it subtracts from a Bank Account and adds to an Investment Account. Make sure you have both account types created. Only Bank Accounts can be selected as the source; the Investment Account is auto-selected as the destination.

Why are some months read-only for budgets and goals?

You can't create new budgets or goals for months that have already ended — only the current and future months. Existing budgets and goals from past months remain visible, but new ones are blocked to keep historical data consistent.

Where can I read the privacy policy?

Right here: Privacy Policy. Short version: your data stays on your device. We do not run servers and do not collect personal information.

  • What happened instead
  • A screenshot if possible
